Having sat top of Serie A throughout the international break, early pace-setters Roma return with a tricky trip to a Como side in sensational form.

Match News and Current Form

Como went into the international break on a downer after a surprise 2-0 defeat to Frosinone ended their ten-match unbeaten run across all competitions. The Lariani now face the prospect of losing back-to-back matches without scoring for the first time since December 2025, but that’s a minor blotch on what has otherwise been a solid start to the Serie A season (W3, D1, L1) - their best five-game start since returning to the top flight. Adding to that at home seems likely for Cesc Fàbregas’ side, who have only been beaten by reigning champions Inter Milan across their last nine matches at Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia (W6, D2).

Roma have been setting the early pace in Serie A, but they went into the break tinged with a little disappointment after squandering a 2-0 lead at home to Inter Milan to draw 2-2, which ended their 100% winning start. Only in two seasons have Roma ever had more Serie A points after matchday five, and few would bet against them adding to their healthy haul on the road, where the Giallorossi have won their last five away league games. Only once in history have Roma ever posted a better such run (12 games between February and November 2017) and taking the next step on the road to replicating that would mark a huge achievement for boss Gian Piero Gasperini, who would become only the fifth manager to oversee 300 Serie A wins.

Head-to-Head History

Como have won the last three Serie A H2Hs they hosted, as many as in their previous 11 such games. Adding to that seems likely too as the last six meetings at any venue were all won by the home team on the day.

Hot Stats and Streaks

Six of Como’s last seven games saw both teams score.

Como kept a first-half clean sheet in five of their last six home matches.

Four of Roma’s last five away games produced exactly two yellow cards.

Roma conceded their last six goals after half-time.

Key Players to Watch and Missing Players

After finding the net in Como’s last home game against Parma (2-1), centre-back Jacobo Ramón has found some unexpected scoring form having also netted twice for Spain’s U21s during the international break. Roma midfielder Manu Koné got a brace against Inter, but he’s perhaps likelier to be involved with the referee having racked up a joint-team high 11 foul involvements in Serie A this season.

Como duo Moise Kean and Ivan Smolčić are doubts here due to injury and illness respectively, while Roma’s leading marksman this season, Donyell Malen (G6), and their captain Bryan Cristante may miss out.

Betting Analysis

Given both sides’ strong starts this season, a draw with both teams to score after half-time might be a shrewd selection here.
