Monday night football sees Tottenham, who are still awaiting their first Premier League victory of the season, host a newly promoted Coventry side three points ahead and buoyed by back-to-back wins.

Match News and Current Form

After they escaped relegation by the skin of their teeth on the final day of last season, Tottenham appear to be at serious risk of being involved in another relegation battle this term, having failed to win any of their opening six league games (D3, L3). Now eight points worse off than they were at this stage last season, Spurs’ only longer winless start to a Premier League campaign came back in 2008/09 when they recovered to finish eighth. Spurs have won only three of their last 25 league home matches (D7, L15), but fresh from an attempt at boosting morale with a training camp in Marbella, Roberto De Zerbi’s side remain favourites to collect three points here.

Coventry lost their first four Premier League games of the season following their long-awaited return, but have since settled in and responded with victories against Nottingham Forest (1-0) and Newcastle (4-1), offering hope they can mount a solid survival challenge. Courtesy of their recent successes, Frank Lampard’s side now have the chance to create a slice of history, with the Sky Blues last winning three top-flight matches on the spin back in February 1998 under Gordon Strachan. If they could upset the odds in North London, it would also mark the club’s first back-to-back Premier League away wins since August 2000.

Head-to-Head History

Tottenham have won the last five H2Hs across all competitions, with this their first meeting since a 2-1 Spurs victory in a League Cup clash in September 2024.

Betting Analysis

Given Tottenham’s recent struggles and the visitors’ newfound goalscoring ability, Coventry to score over 1.5 goals appears very viable.
