The two lowest-ranked nations by FIFA in UEFA Nations League (UNL) Group C4 clash as Estonia look to extend their unbeaten start against second-placed Luxembourg.

Match News and Current Form

Estonia battled well to pick up two points from their opening games in UNL Group C, with draws as outsiders against both Bulgaria and Iceland. Neither of those games will live long in the memory of the neutrals, but that fighting spirit will be needed as they return home for the first time with a chance of gatecrashing the top two if they can once more hold their own against higher-ranked opponents. Despite Estonia’s lowly FIFA ranking of #127, the perennial underdogs are in excellent form having lost just one of their seven matches since World Cup Qualifying (W4, D2), with the only game in that run that was held in Tallinn ending in a 1-0 victory.

Luxembourg have already bettered their win tally from the previous UNL campaign (D3, L3) with their 2-1 victory against the odds in Bulgaria, but failed to build on that success as they fell 3-0 against Iceland on matchday two. Conceding first in both of those games, the Red Lions will hope to justify their superior FIFA ranking with a more convincing start, just as they did when winning without reply in each of their four victories prior to Bulgaria. Playing away shouldn’t faze Luxembourg either as they arrive here having won each of their three travelling games in 2026, representing their best away winning run in this decade.

Head-to-Head History

Estonia are unbeaten against Luxembourg after three prior H2Hs (W2, D1). Both victories came without reply and by 2+ goal margins, but the most recent meeting came back in 2005.

Hot Stats and Streaks

Estonia have committed the second-highest amount of fouls amongst all UNL sides after two rounds (39).

Estonia’s last six matches produced under 2.5 goals.

The scoring was opened within 20 minutes in four of Luxembourg’s last five games.

Just one of Luxembourg’s last 11 matches saw both teams score.

Key Players to Watch and Missing Players

Mattias Käit assisted Estonia’s only goal in their last home game as they lifted the Baltic Cup, and his last two international strikes also served as match openers in home matches, though neither were won (D1, L1). Luxembourg and Benfica midfielder Leandro Barreiro has registered goal contributions in two of his last three UNL games (G1, A1) - each of his last four scoring appearances for club and country saw him net before half-time.

Robi Saarma was withdrawn with an injury for Estonia last time out, while Luxembourg’s Laurent Jans suffered the same fate in their latest outing.

Betting Analysis

Given Estonia’s surprisingly strong start, backing another draw here could prove to be a shrewd play.
