The Real Madrid rollercoaster is fighting desperately to cling onto Barcelona’s heels, so the visit of Sevilla could be well timed given their dominant H2H record.

Match News and Current Form

José Mourinho has made no secret of his displeasure with Real Madrid’s recent performances, but five wins from six in all competitions (L1) show they retain the famous spirit that has powered them over the years. That was on full display on Wednesday as Los Blancos stunningly overturned a two-goal deficit to win 4-3 away at Roma in the UEFA Champions League, but with a Clásico on the horizon next week, it’s imperative they at least maintain their current six-point deficit to Barcelona. Seven successive La Liga wins at the Bernabéu should have them full of confidence, especially given that four of the last five of those saw Madrid score exactly four times.

Sevilla may have posted their best eight-game start to a La Liga season in five years (W4, D1, L3), but disappointment lingers for them after a 3-3 draw against Levante in which they twice squandered the lead and conceded a 100th-minute equaliser. The Andalusians start the round inside the top six regardless so should be confident of avoiding another relegation scrap, especially if their strong travelling form continues. Sevilla are unbeaten on the road this term (W2, D2) - their best away start since 2011/12 (6) - while they’ve avoided defeat in four of their last six La Liga trips to the Community of Madrid (W2, D2, L2).

Head-to-Head History

Real Madrid are unbeaten in the last 15 La Liga H2Hs (W13, D2), and haven’t been beaten at home by Sevilla in the league since December 2008 (W16, D1), with this the visitors’ worst such run away at Real in competition history.

Robbie Ure attempted five shots against Levante last week, the joint-most by a Sevilla player in an away league game since the start of last season, with four of his last five club strikes arriving on the road.

Last week’s red card landed Vinícius Júnior a four-game suspension, while Sevilla’s Isaac Romero is also banned and Miguel Sierra is out with a long-term shoulder injury.

Betting Analysis

Goals are following Sevilla lately, but with the hosts’ unbelievable H2H record, Real to win and both teams to score seems the most logical option.
