According to reports, Dutch Eredivisie giants Ajax are looking to add Marc-Andre ter Stegen or Yann Sommer to fill their vacant goalkeeping spot.

Ajax are without a starting goalkeeper after Czech stopper Vitezslav Jaros left the club to return to Liverpool after his loan spell, which was cut short by a torn ACL he suffered in February. Indonesian international Maarten Paes filled in, but was only brought in as a backup goalkeeper in January.

After appointing former Girona manager Míchel as their new boss, Ajax are allegedly looking to add a senior goalkeeper to the squad. According to transfer guru Nicoló Schira, Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Yann Sommer are at the top of the list for the former UEFA Champions League winners.

Ter Stegen reportedly developed a good relationship with Míchel at Girona, and Ajax have begun gathering information on the German stopper's physique after the 34-year-old has struggled with injuries in recent times. Ter Stegen joined Girona on loan from FC Barcelona in January, but suffered a torn hamstring in February.

The German goalkeeper is under contract with Barcelona until the summer of 2028. It remains to be seen whether Ajax technical director Jordi Cruyff is willing to meet Ter Stegen's wage demands, with the German currently earning €15 million per year in Catalonia.

Yann Sommer, 37, is set to leave Inter upon the expiry of his contract this summer. La Gazzetta dello Sport reported on Friday that Ajax are in contact with the Swiss goalkeeper.
