Vitor Bruno is the new head coach of Anderlecht. The 43-year-old Portuguese manager travelled to Brussels and signed a two-year contract with the historic Belgian club, succeeding Jeremy Taravel, who remains at the club but returns to his role as assistant coach.

As previously reported by Flashscore, Vitor Bruno is the new coach of Anderlecht.

After closing his chapter at FC Porto, where he managed 29 official matches as head coach and won a Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira, Vítor Bruno now embarks on his first major solo international experience.

Before taking charge on Dragoes' bench, the coach spent 15 years as Sergio Conceicao's right-hand man, working at clubs such as SC Braga, Vitoria SC, Nantes, and FC Porto themself, where he won three league titles, four Portuguese Cups, and three Super Cups.

Vítor Bruno is not coming to Belgium alone. The Portuguese manager will be joined by a coaching staff with strong ties to Olival. Vitor Gouveia and Nuno Piloto will serve as assistant coaches, alongside Pedro Oliveira (fitness coach) and Luis Ferreira (goalkeeping coach).

On the other hand, Naim Aarab and Andreas Patz are leaving the Belgian club's staff, while Arnaud Djoum will join the Under-18 coaching team.

"Modern, attractive and dominant football"

The sporting director of Anderlecht, Antoine Sibierski, explained the choice of the Portuguese coach by highlighting the detailed profile the board was seeking for the club.

"We carried out a very thorough process to hire the right coach and technical staff who would fit the club's ambitions. With the appointment of Vitor Bruno, RSCA has chosen a head coach who stands for modern, attractive and dominant football. He is also known for his demanding approach, winning mentality and work ethic," Sibierski emphasized.
