The number one pick of the 2024 MLB draft made his majors debut on April 28 and has struck hits in five of his last six games for the Guardians, increasing his career total to five runs with this morning's homer over centre-right field.
The 23-year-old second baseman worked his way into the majors through a stint at AA Minor League team Akron RubberDucks, where he accumulated four home runs and 17 RBI in 34 appearances.
Bazzana's maiden home run recorded a bat swing of 111kph (69.5mph) and an off-bat speed of 163.7kph (102.3mph).
It comes only weeks after Bazzana lit up the Baseball World Classic, a tournament in which he batted at .188, with a match-winning performance over Chinese Taipei that included a monster hit over deep right field.
Earlier this month, Bazzana recorded his first hit to drive in two runs during what Guardians manager Stephen Vogt described as "a huge spot for us to extend the lead."
