Milwaukee Brewers star outfielder Christian Yelich is expected to miss at least one month after suffering a second-degree adductor strain during Sunday's 8-6 loss to the Washington Nationals.

Yelich, 34, sustained the injury while trying to run out a double play before leaving the game. He was batting .314 with one home run, 10 RBI, and three stolen bases through 15 games this season.

"I'm just trying to go about it the best I can, do a good job with the rehab and get back out there as quickly as possible," said Yelich.

The 2018 National League MVP is coming off a 2025 season in which he posted 29 home runs and 103 RBI - the best since 2019 when he hit 44 home runs with 97 RBI and 30 stolen bases.

This will be the second major injury Yelich has dealt with in the past three years. In 2024, he played in only 73 games due to back issues, which he ultimately ended up receiving surgery for.

Milwaukee are 8-7 on the season and currently sit in third place in the NL Central division.
