On Wednesday, Inter Miami announced the signing of Casemiro. The Brazilian midfielder joined the club on a free transfer after his contract with Manchester United expired, signing a deal until 2027 with an option to extend until 2029.
"What motivates me the most - and I think this applies to every footballer - is the desire to keep winning and developing. The project the club presented to me and the effort they put into bringing me here mean a lot to me. I can't wait to repay that not only in matches, but also in training," he said.
At 34, Casemiro is saying goodbye to European football, which he joined in 2012 from Sao Paulo. In Europe, he played for Real Madrid, FC Porto, and Manchester United.
He has made 91 appearances for the Brazil national team and played at the 2026 World Cup, which was his third after the tournaments in 2018 and 2022. He also took part in Copa America in 2015, 2016, 2019, and 2021.

Casemiro now joins forces with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, his former rivals at FC Barcelona.

He is a winner who has achieved so much in the game, and after such an incredible career with Real Madrid and Manchester United, I'm delighted that he's decided to make Miami his next home."
Defending MLS Cup champion Inter Miami (15-9-2, 31 points) are in second place in the Eastern Conference as they return from the World Cup break to host the Chicago Fire on Wednesday night.
