14:00 CET - Good afternoon and welcome to Flashscore's live coverage of the Champions League draw for the League Phase. Qualification for the 36-team tournament may have started back in July, but it's time for the main event of the autumn and winter to come, with the best teams in Europe once again battling it out for continental supremacy.
PSG are the current holders, after they went back-to-back in Budapest, defeating the Premier League champions Arsenal on penalties.
The Gunners return again for another tilt as they try and win their first-ever Champions League crown, but there are plenty of other teams vying for the title.
The draw commences at 18:00 CET, but as ever with these events, we expect a long preamble before the balls are removed from the pots.
There will be four pots, each of nine teams, with all of the 36 competitors playing two teams from each pot in the eight-game league phase.

Pot A: PSG, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Inter, Manchester City, Arsenal, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid
Pot B: Borussia Dortmund, Roma, Sporting CP, Aston Villa, Porto, Manchester United, Club Brugge, Real Betis, PSV
Pot C: Feyenoord, Lille, Bodo/Glimt, Napoli, RB Leipzig, Villarreal, Fenerbahce, Shakhtar, Galatasaray
Pot D: Slavia Prague, Slovan Bratislava, Stuttgart, AEK Athens, LASK, Como, Lens, Viking, Sabah Baku
As ever in the Champions League at this stage of the competition, teams from the same nation cannot face each other in the League Phase, and a new rule for this year sees fixtures that have been completed in consecutive seasons (Liverpool vs Real Madrid, for example) cannot happen again this year, although it can happen in reverse.
The League Phase begins on September 8th, and will run into the new year, with the final 18-game matchday taking place on January 27th.
This year's final will take place in Madrid at the Estadio Metropolitano - home of Atletico Madrid - on Saturday, June 5th. It will be the second time this stadium has held the final. It played host to Liverpool's 2-0 triumph over Tottenham Hotspur in 2019.
