There will be a short break of a couple of weeks over the festive period, with the final matches of 2026 on December 23 and the league resuming on January 5, as well as the newly introduced two-and-a-half-week FIFA international window from September 21 to October 6, but otherwise it is all go.
The league kicks off on August 1, although the PSL has not officially released the fixture list yet, with the MTN8 quarter-finals on the weekend of August 8-9.
The two legs of the MTN8 semi-finals are scheduled for August 22 and 29, but the final will not be played until October 10, with CAF interclub competitions and the long FIFA window in between.
The Carling Knockout last 16 is scheduled for October 24-27, with the quarter-finals and semi-finals in November and the final to be played on December 12.
But, as with much of the season, there are alternative dates for the decider to be moved to December 9 if a team still involved in CAF interclub competition reaches the final.
That is because CAF dates take precedence over domestic fixtures, and the group stages of the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup start on the weekend of November 27-29.
Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates are in the Champions League, while Kaizer Chiefs and Durban City are in the Confederation Cup.
The first three rounds of group-stage matches are all in December, with the final three in January.
The CAF Super Cup will be staged on November 7, when Sundowns take on Algeria’s USM Alger.
The Nedbank Cup last 32 will kick off on January 27, with the final on May 1, as the PSL again brings it forward to avoid clashes with the finals of the Champions League and Confederation Cup, which run through May.
The Confederation Cup final is scheduled for the weekends of May 7-9 and 14-16, while the Champions League decider will be played on the weekends of May 21-23 and 28-30.
That will again clash with the final day of the Betway Premiership season should Sundowns or Pirates go all the way, with that scheduled for May 22.
League rules state that the final matches in the competition should be played concurrently, but they have had to bend those rules in recent seasons, with Sundowns reaching the last two Champions League deciders.
The PSL’s Promotion/Relegation Play-Offs start on May 23 and conclude on June 9, with a FIFA international window also scheduled for June 7-15 ahead of AFCON.
