A shortened Eredivisie weekend got underway on Saturday with three games. Flashscore takes you through Saturday's results in the Netherlands.

Fortuna Sittard - AZ: 0-2

Ten-man Fortuna Sittard held on for dear life, but had to concede the win to AZ, who victored 2-0 in Limburg.

Indonesia international Ole Romeny was sent off in the fifth minute for a big charge on Mateo Chavez, planting his foot on the inside of Chavez's ankle. Despite the advantage, it took AZ nearly an hour to finally take the lead in Sittard, with Jizz Hornkamp scoring in his first game since March 2026.

Hornkamp finished the job for AZ deep into added time, tapping in a low cross from Calvin Stengs to get the final score of 2-0 on the board and keep AZ on a 100% score after three games.

Sparta Rotterdam - FC Utrecht: 3-3

FC Utrecht finally won their first point of the season, but were left to rue a missed opportunity after a late equaliser meant Utrecht had to share the spoils with Sparta Rotterdam in a 3-3 draw.

Belgian defender Matisse Didden gave Utrecht the lead shortly after the opening quarter hour, but his goal was cancelled out by Marvin Young's equaliser late in the first half, heading in his second goal of the season.

A well-formed attack got Utrecht back in the lead a minute after half-time, with Bayer Leverkusen loanee Artem Stepanov sliding in the 2-1 from a Niklas Vesterlund cross. The lead didn't last again, however, with Milan Zonneveld clinically finishing his chance five minutes after coming on in the 62nd minute.

English forward Adrian Blake earned Utrecht a third lead of the day in the 76th minute, steering the ball into Filip Bednarek's far corner after accidentally being given the ball by the Sparta defence. The last laugh belonged to the hosts, however, with Nick Verschuren heading Sparta to a 3-3 draw in the 94th minute.

sc Heerenveen - PEC Zwolle: 0-2

PEC Zwolle fought to their first win of the Eredivisie season, beating Heerenveen 2-0 in Frisia.

A tame first half was followed by a quick goal from veteran defender Nick Viergever in the second half, thus becoming PEC Zwolle's second-oldest goal scorer in club history. Striker Koen Kostons added PEC's second goal ten minutes later, unapologetically firing the ball past Bernt Klaverboer's near post after another fine assist from Dylan Mbayo.
