Norwegian international goalkeeper Torbjorn Bergerud from Polish outfit Wisla Plock will return to the Danish domestic league as he has signed a three-year deal with Fredericia.

After successful stays in Germany, Norway, and Poland with Champions League contestants Wisla Plock, Torbjorn Bergerud is now looking forward to returning to Danish handball.

“I am really looking forward to returning to Danish handball and to one of Europe's strongest leagues. Denmark is a country and a league that suits me very well. After my conversations with the club, I could feel how passionate everyone was about the project, and that made the decision easy. I believe that we can create something great together", says Bergerud.

For a number of years, Bergerud has been the regular goalkeeper for the Norwegian national team, helping them reach the final of the World Championships twice. At club level, he has played for teams such as Germany’s Flensburg-Handewitt, Norway’s Kolstad, and Denmark’s GOG, where he won the Danish championship in 2022.

In other words, he knows Danish handball from the inside. The move comes after Fredericia HK parted ways with Sebastian Frandsen last season; Frandsen has since joined league rivals BSH. By bringing in Bergerud, the club is securing a prominent player for a key position.
