Toronto Maple Leafs goalie Anthony Stolarz was pulled from his start ahead of Saturday's game against the Ottawa Senators after taking a puck to the throat in warmups.

Stolarz was taken to the hospital for imaging. *This article will be updated once the team reports on his status.

Through 21 starts (22 games) this season, Stolarz has a .894 save percentage - a career-worst - and a 3.34 goals against average. He's 8-9-3 on the season as Toronto is currently second-to-last in the Eastern Conference with a 29-28-13 record.

The 32-year-old was one of the best goalies last season for the Maple Leafs, posting a 21-8-3 record with a .926 save percentage and a 2.14 GAA in 34 games (33 starts). Stolarz has never played in more than 35 games in a single season.

He was brought in last season from the Florida Panthers, where Stolarz was the backup for Sergei Bobrovsky. Now, his current four-year, $15 million contract with the Leafs will run through the 2029-2030 season.
