It was a race to remember for Ferrari, with Leclerc and Hamilton passing Kimi Antonelli at the start and the former ultimately claiming victory.
Hamilton was left somewhat disappointed himself after he failed to keep up with Leclerc as the race went on and ultimately lost a second-place finish when his team made a mistake in pitting him under the late Safety Car.
Many will now be wondering whether the tide has turned in the intra-team battle between the two drivers that the seven-time champion has dominated for most of the season, but he suggested Leclerc's success was largely down to his own input.
"What gives me confidence is coming into this weekend, the simulator said that we should start in a much different place with the set-up, and my engineers and I decided to stay within the direction that we would normally go," he said.
"(Leclerc) then ended up (using) my philosophy and the direction that I was taking was ultimately the right one, and he migrated that way.
"It's good to see that direction that I have pushed for is paying off and that we've just got to continue to make changes and continue to push."
While Hamilton was disappointed with his own result, he's hugely encouraged to see how Ferrari are operating now, and believes that their consistency could ultimately lead to title glory with Mercedes having reliability issues - Kimi Antonelli retired at Silverstone when challenging from the lead due to a mechanical issue.
"Massively impressed," Hamilton said.
"I think we came into the season knowing that we needed to level up in our processes and just how we executed on race weekends. That's something that we were pushing for last year. And then the team's really, every single individual brings so much to the table and is bringing the best to the table.
"The guys in the garage worked so hard for the pit stops. We've got great pit stops. And then everyone back in the factory has worked so hard to bring this consistency, and that's really what I think ultimately is going to make the difference this year."
