Watson, 27, has not played a full season in the four years he has been in the league. He finished a bounce-back 2025 season with 611 yards, the same as his rookie year but in four fewer games, and six touchdowns, also the most since his rookie season (7).
Watson was selected 34th overall by the Packers in the 2022 NFL Draft and has since been plagued with injury problems.
In his rookie season (2022), Watson dealt with a Grade 1 hamstring sprain, causing him to miss three games. A year later, Watson would miss eight games with a Grade 2 hamstring strain, only playing in nine games during the 2023 season.
After suffering a Grade 2 ankle sprain and a Grade 1 knee bone bruise, Watson would tear his ACL on January 5, 2025, which forced him to miss the first seven weeks of this past season.
If he's healthy, Watson is an immediate threat for the Packers' offense.
His deal comes after the team signed wide receiver Jayden Reed to a three-year, $50.25 million extension back in April. Reed, who is also battling with injuries, played in just seven games last year after fracturing his collarbone.
He will be entering his fourth season after putting up 793-8 and 857-6 in the previous two seasons.
