Pittsburgh Penguins legend Sidney Crosby moved up to ninth place on the National Hockey League's all-time assists list with No. 1,064 during Tuesday's matchup against the Anaheim Ducks.

His assist came from his face-off win that eventually put the Penguins up 2-1 with a shot by defenceman Ryan Shea and a redirect from Rickard Rakell for his second goal of the season.

Crosby now needs 16 more to surpass Hall of Famer Adam Oates (1,079) and move up to eighth all-time.

Sitting with 626 career goals, Crosby also needs just 15 more goals to take Dave Andreychuk's spot at No. 15 on the all-time goals list, more than solidifying himself as a legend of the game.

The 38-year-old has spent all 21 seasons of his career with the Penguins. He's a three-time Stanley Cup champion, two-time Olympic Gold Medalist, two-time Hart (MVP) winner, two-time Richard (leading goal scorer) winner, two-time Smythe winner (Stanley Cup Playoffs MVP), two-time Ross (most points) winner, and a three-time Pearson winner for most outstanding player.

The soon-to-be Hall of Famer is also an eight-time All-Star and led Team Canada to the first gold medal in the NHL's 4 Nation Face-Off last season.

Pittsburgh were 2-1-0 heading into their Tuesday matchup against the Ducks. They finished the 2024-2025 season with a 34-36-12 record, making it three straight seasons missing the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
