Larkin, 29, has spent all 11 years of his career with the Red Wings, who have now missed the playoffs for 10 straight seasons.
The veteran center is currently under contract for five more seasons with an $8.7 million average annual value.
Larkin was selected 15th overall in the 2014 NHL Draft and wasted no time shining as a rookie the following year. During the 2015-2016 season, Larkin scored 23 goals and 22 assists through 80 games.
Since then, Larkin has played in at least 71 games in nine of 10 seasons (excluding COVID year) with the Wings and has now posted at least 30 goals and 33 assists in the last five seasons.
He finished the 2025-2026 campaign with a career-high 34 goals, along with 33 assists (67 points) in 74 games. The Red Wings captain is currently in the prime of his career and is now looking to possibly join a contender.
Despite not making the playoffs after a late-season collapse by the Red Wings, Larkin still brought home the gold medal with the USA Olympic team.
He has now played in more Olympic Games (6) than he has playoff games (5) in his NHL career - all five of which came during his rookie season.
