Hacken and AIK both remained unbeaten and took their respective Allsvenskan points tallies to seven thanks to narrow home victories to close out round three of the new season.

Hacken 2-1 GAIS

Hacken have gone second in the standings with a second Gothenburg derby victory in as many matchdays, inflicting a third straight defeat on bottom-of-the-table GAIS, who had the best chance of the opening half, as Robert Thorkelsson struck the post with a header.

But it was the home side who took the lead when a 51st-minute corner was punched clear to the edge of the area, where Abdoulaye Doumbia was waiting to sent the ball back over the goalkeeper's head with an expert cushioned volley.

The lead lasted all of six minutes - Thorkelsson was determined not to waste another chance when he collected Samuel Salter's through pass, before shrugging off challenges and finishing well.

However, the Mackerels were denied a first point of the campaign when Hacken struck again 10 minutes from time, when an inswinging Mikkel Rygaard cross from the right was diverted home by Gustav Lindgren on the volley from close range.

Only Sirius on nine points sit above Hacken in the table, while GAIS are one of only two sides yet to pick up a point.

AIK 1-0 Kalmar

The only other side yet to get off the mark are newly-promoted Kalmar, who left Strawberry Arena empty-handed after a narrow defeat to AIK.

The home side needed a big save early on from Christoffer Nordfeldt to deny Marius Soderback and ensure they didn't fall behind, and that proved vital midway through the half when his opposite number, Jakob Kindberg, presented AIK with the perfect chance to score.

The Kalmar goalkeeper spilled Zadok Yohanna's cross and, in his attempts to gather the ball, brought down Bersant Celina and conceded a penalty. Johan Hove dispatched the spot-kick to score his first of the season.

In a game of few chances, one goal was enough for Gnaget to stay level with Hacken on seven points.

Malmo's Jansson out for the season

There was disappointing news for Malmo fans today as it was confirmed their captain Pontus Jansson will miss the remainder of the season following an ACL injury.

The former Sweden centre-back went off late in MFF's victory at Djurgarden following an awkward clash with Leon Hien, and is sure to be a big miss in his side's attempts to regain the Allsvenskan title.
