Kaze, who was co-coach at Kaizer Chiefs last season with current Durban City mentor Khalil Ben Youssef, won three and lost four of his matches in charge.
That includes three defeats in a week to Orlando Pirates, who won both legs of their MTN8 semi-final and also beat Sekhukhune in the league. The other loss came at Chiefs in the league.
Sekhukhune will now be led by former Bafana Bafana midfielder Papi Zothwane, who will be assisted by Paulus Masehe.
“Sekhukhune United Football Club announces that Head Coach Cedric Kaze has departed from the Club by mutual agreement, with immediate effect,” Sekhukhune said in a statement.
“The Club expresses its sincere appreciation to Coach Kaze for his dedication, professionalism, and contribution during his tenure, and wishes him every success in his future endeavours.
“The Club remains focused on ensuring stability, continuity, and a smooth transition as the team prepares for the challenges ahead.”
Sekhukhune are next in action on Saturday when they host TS Galaxy in the league.
