Kevin De Bruyne (33) pulled the strings on his return to the Manchester City lineup in their commanding 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Wednesday.

The Belgian, who notched a 9.2 Flashscore rating, scored and assisted in the triumph to help City end a winless streak lasting seven games.

It was only De Bruyne's first start since September, but he looked sharp as he got Pep Guardiola's side up and running within 10 minutes - his header finding Bernardo Silva for City's opener.

The Belgian got on the scoresheet himself in the first half with a powerful effort into the top corner after some good play on the wing from his compatriot Jeremy Doku.

It was the type of display that showed why it is key for City to keep De Bruyne fit as they look to chop down the nine-point gap already formed to Premier League leaders Liverpool.

With City back in the win column, they'll be looking for a second straight when they travel to face Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.
