Thanks to a goal in the dying seconds from striker James Bogere, who had replaced Gift Links, AGF recaptured the top spot in the Danish Superliga with a 2-1 win against Sonderjyske on Sunday evening.

AGF put maximum pressure on championship rival FC Midtjylland on Sunday with a 2-1 win over Sonderjyske at home.18-year-old James Bogere became the big hero when he sent the crowd in Vejlby into raptures in injury time with his first goal for AGF.

Ten minutes earlier, the away team's Olti Hyseni had equalized Tobias Bech's opening goal from the start of the second half and created a nervous atmosphere among the home team's fans.

Thanks to the win, AGF has a three-point gap to FC Midtjylland, who will host arch-rivals Viborg FF on Monday evening and can regain first place with a win due to a clearly better goal difference than the Aarhus team.

Sunday's match in Vejlby was very symbolic of AGF's spring season. The home side dominated throughout the encounter but struggled to make their dominance tell on the scoreboard.

Norwegian profile Kristian Arnstad demonstrated this already after six minutes, when he squandered an open opportunity with a poor shot at Sonderjyske keeper Nicolai Flo.

The whirlwind Gift Links did his best to give the hosts the necessary spark with many energetic touches, but he was alone in posing a threat.

AGF coach Jakob Poulsen took the consequence of that and put Frederik Emmery into action from the start of the second half, which paid off almost immediately.

Emmery ended up in a duel with striker Matthew Hoppe on AGF's left side, and curled a perfect delivery into the box where Bech rose high to direct a strong header past Flo.

It seemed only a matter of time before AGF would double the lead before the visitors equalized against the run of play with nine minutes remaining.

Anders Bergholt put the ball across the box to the onrushing Olti Hyseni, who scored his fifth goal of the season - four of which have been scored in the spring.

The game looked to be headed for a draw when Bogere's shot from the edge of the box took a deflection off Maxime Soulas and into the back of the net.
