The Danish Football Association (DBU) made a mistake in the process that led to FC Copenhagen’s Andreas Cornelius being handed a suspension for dissent towards the referee.

Two members of the Football Disciplinary Body should not have participated in the handling of the case due to a conflict of interest.

This is stated in an announcement on the association's website.

The "administrative error" did not influence the outcome of the vote. Consequently, the suspension remains in effect despite the error, it is stated.

"Two of the six members who took part in the decision—Lars W. Knudsen and Teddy Pedersen—should not have participated, as they are active within Sonderjyske Fodbold and Randers FC, respectively, and the case has sporting implications for the Superliga," writes the DBU.

However, the error did not alter the result of the vote. The decision was reached by a 4–2 margin, says the Danish FA

The two members who should not have participated both voted against the suspension; therefore, had they not taken part, the outcome would have been 4–0.
