Mariehamn remain rooted to the foot of the Veikkausliiga table despite coming from behind to earn a point at Lahti, the new boys who sit top of the bottom half of the table.

Lahti 1-1 Mariehamn

For Mariehamn, it was a first point on the Finnish mainland in 2026, ending a run of successive defeats in the process, while a point for Lahti is more than they picked up in their previous outing, but considering that was a narrow loss to HJK, they were hoping for more against the winless side.

It looked like they would get back to winning ways after taking the lead in the 20th minute, when Cristobal Montiel's curling cross was missed by players on both sides before Martim Augusto got his head to it at the back post.

The home side then had a plethora of chances to double their lead, but none of Romain Sans, Romaric Yapi, Gianini Dantas nor Mamodou Sarr could find a way through either side of the break.

That came back to haunt Lahti as the match entered its final quarter - Yohan Cassubie caught Leo Andersson inside the box, and Sebastian Dahlstrom stepped up and dispatched the resulting penalty.

Lahti had the better of the late chances, but their finishing continued to desert them, meaning the spoils were shared. Mariehamn stay bottom on three points but are now just a point behind Jaro, while Lahti are in seventh on seven points.
