The clay-court swing traditionally reaches its peak at the turn of May and June with the second Grand Slam tournament of the tennis season. The 125th edition of the French Open begins in less than a month, so we bring you a complete overview of the tournament. Main draw ceremony

The men's and women's singles draws will take place on Thursday, May 21st. The exact time has not yet been announced, and the draw should be available to watch live. More details will be added once available.

Main draw

Mark Sunday, May 24th, in your calendar. That is the day the main draw of the 2026 French Open begins. The finals are scheduled for early June. The women's singles final will be played on Saturday, June 6th, and the men's singles final on Sunday, June 7th.

Seedings

The top 32 players in both the men's and women's singles draws will be seeded. Seeded players cannot face another seed before the third round. For the 2026 French Open, the rankings of May 18 will determine the seeding, since the draw takes place on May 21st.

Qualifying

The French Open lasts three weeks, and everything starts with the qualifying competition. The 32 players advancing to the main draw will be known on Friday, May 22nd. A total of 128 men and 128 women will compete in qualifying.

Wildcards

This section will be updated once announced. There are eight wild cards available for both men's and women's singles. It is expected that six will go to French players, one to a player from the USA, and one to a player from Australia.
