The All England Club's famous lawns have given fans unforgettable moments, from dominant runs to near-endless marathons. Here are some of the most astonishing records at The Wimbledon Championships.

Biggest crowd

The highest aggregate attendance for an entire fortnight was set during the 2025 edition of the Wimbledon Championships, with 548,770 total spectators passing through the gates. It surpassed the previous tournament records set in 2022 (515,164 fans) and 2023 (532,651 fans)

Longest winning streaks

Roger Federer and Bjorn Borg both won 41 consecutive matches to win Wimbledon in five successive years.

Federer began his emphatic run with a straight-set victory over Mark Philippoussis in the 2003 final to clinch his maiden major, while the Swede secured the first of his five Wimbledon crowns in 1976, when he saw off Ilie Nastase in straight sets in the final.

From 1982 to 1988, Martina Navratilova won an incredible 47 consecutive matches at Wimbledon, by far the longest streak in the women’s singles event, recording six straight titles. She was a losing finalist in 1988.

Most aces

John Isner holds the record for the most aces in a single match at Wimbledon, hitting a staggering 113 aces against Nicolas Mahut during their famous first-round encounter in 2010.

Most double faults

In 1957, Maria de Amorin served an astonishing 17 successive double faults during a second-round match at Wimbledon against Berna Thung. She managed to win a set during the encounter but ultimately lost the match.

Most titles won

Roger Federer holds the record for the most men's singles titles in Wimbledon Championships history, having won the tournament eight times. Martina Navratilova has the record for the most women's singles titles at Wimbledon, winning the prestigious event nine times between 1978 and 1990.

In terms of overall success at the All England Club, combining singles, doubles, and mixed doubles, the record is shared between Navratilova and Billie Jean King, who each have claimed an astonishing 20 total Wimbledon titles.

The longest match

The longest tennis match of all time was famously played between Isner and Mahut in the first round of the men’s singles at the 2010 Wimbledon.

Isner eventually won 6-4, 3-6, 6-7(7), 7-6(3), 70-68 in a match that lasted 11 hours and 5 minutes, spread out over three days.

The fastest serve

Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard holds the record for the fastest serve ever recorded in the men's singles at Wimbledon. He struck a blistering 153 mph (246 km/h) serve during his first-round match against Taylor Fritz at the tournament.

Venus Williams struck the fastest serve in women's Wimbledon history with a blazing 129 mph (208 km/h) strike during the 2008 tournament, an event she went on to win.
