Wimbledon witnessed a fantastic final between two Czechs, which, after a three-set battle, was ultimately won by 21-year-old Linda Noskova. Despite suffering a mid-match crisis and squandering five match points, Noskova managed to regroup and defeat Karolina Muchova, becoming the Queen of Wimbledon. So what were the most important aspects of her triumph?

The match between Noskova and Muchova, which ended with a 6-1, 5-7, 6-3 victory for the former, was analysed for Flashscore by former Czech tennis player and current coach of the Czech girls' youth teams, Petra Cetkovska.

What were the winner's three biggest weapons, what was the key moment of the match, and what might the future hold for the new Wimbledon champion?

Three biggest weapons

Serve

"It probably won't come as a surprise, but Linda's biggest weapon, not just in the final, was her serve. It helped her a lot. Many rallies were short because of it, which suited her in a match against the creative Karolina Muchova. And thanks to her excellent serve, she could play dominantly and aggressively even as the game continued."

Drop Shots

"Every player tries to improve their game and add new elements throughout their career. Everyone knows Linda's tennis is more about power and aggression, and hardly anyone expected drop shots from her. She probably caught a lot of people off guard with them. They were often precise and successful. At the same time, it was an aspect that helped her maintain her confidence."

Mindset and Mentality

"Maybe a lot of people wrote Linda off when she lost the second set and missed five match points. The pressure of the moment probably really got to her there. But she quickly showed just how mentally strong she is. It's not easy to come back after a moment like that and take the third set for yourself.

"It's incredible to see that in a girl playing her first Grand Slam final, especially at such an iconic venue. She came back, returned to her aggressive strategy, and played her game as if nothing had happened. It's proof of how mature a player she already is."

Key moment

"It was the first and second games of the third set. Karolina had three break points. It's easy to say, but she lost a bit of focus during them. There were two or three small mistakes from Muchova, and after that, there was no way back."

What could the future hold for Linda Noskova?

"With her performance in the Wimbledon final, she showed she can challenge for even higher spots in the rankings. She will now move up to seventh place. But given how young she is and how she handled such a tough final, it confirms that she's becoming more and more comfortable among the absolute elite. At the same time, I don't think this will be her last Grand Slam final."
