Winners: York City

Sheer madness. Emotions that both teams may never experience again. The top two teams in the English National League met in the battle for promotion to League Two on the final matchday, and York held the cards. A draw was all they needed to get promoted.

However, home side Rochdale scored a crucial goal in the fifth minute of stoppage time, and the excited fans ran onto the pitch to celebrate after Emmanuel Dieseruvwe's header.

It took some time for the organisers to clear the pitch of spectators, and York were given one last chance.

Logically, the visitors threw all their players in front of the opposition goal and finally, after a bit of a scramble, Josh Stones scored in the 13th minute of stoppage time to secure the result they needed.

Although the home team complained that the ball was not in the net, the assistant referee confirmed that it crossed the goal line.

This time, it was the away fans who rushed onto the pitch as York City returned to the elite English competition after 10 years. But Rochdale need not mourn, they can still fight their way to promotion via the play-offs.

Losers: Machida

Machida lost the Asian Champions League final 1-0 despite playing over 50 minutes against 10-man Al Ahli, falling to an extra-time winner.

The Japanese outfit's woes were summed up by their barely-believable corner kick routine that saw substitutes Na Sang-Ho and Yuki Soma collide.

Machida are the third Japanese team in a row to fail to win the final of Asia's most prestigious club competition. Al Ahli, on the other hand, won their second title in a row, something no club has ever done before.

Winners: Manchester City

Manchester City were given a real fright from in-form Championship side Southampton in their FA Cup semi-final clash at Wembley, before eventually getting over the line.

After going 1-0 down in the 79th minute courtesy of a wondergoal from Finn Azaz, the Saints were dreaming of a meteoric upset. However, City responded with strikes in the 82nd and 87th minutes, including a thunderous effort from Nico Gonzalez, as they won 2-1.

The victory meant that City booked their spot in a fourth consecutive FA Cup final - a competition record. However, they have lost the last two of them, to Crystal Palace and Manchester United.

They will be hoping to get their hands on the trophy this time around, with Chelsea the team standing in their way. Pep Guardiola will have his eyes firmly on a domestic treble.

Losers: Fenerbahce

Fenerbahce suffered a humiliating 3-0 loss at the home of arch-rivals Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig, with their hopes of winning a first title since 2014 all but gone.

Four points behind Gala before the game with just four gameweeks to go, Fener knew they needed to win at Rams Park to keep themselves in contention. And after a bright start, they were awarded a penalty. Yet Anderson Talisca put his strike wide, and things went from bad to worse from there.

Gala took control, with Victor Osimhen giving them the lead just before half time. Former Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson was then sent off in the second half, before Baris Alper Yilmaz netted from the penalty spot. Finally, Lucas Torreira put a seal on the win.

Fener are now in a real battle with Trabzonspor for second spot, and the reaction to this defeat has been loud. Heads will roll as their barren run continues.

For Gala, they need one win from their last three games to clinch a record-equalling fourth-straight title - a seismic feat.

Winner: Mika Godts

Things aren't so bad for Ajax. There are still exceptional talents coming through, and after a 2-0 win at Breda, the Amsterdam club kept their hopes of finishing second alive.

The hero of the match was Belgian 20-year-old Godts, who carried the ball from the halfway line, past several defenders and the goalkeeper, before scoring a truly sensational goal.

Fans immediately started sharing a video of the goal that the iconic Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored against Breda years ago. Yes, it was very similar...

Loser: Esteban Andrada

There was so much on the line in the Aragon derby in LaLiga 2 between Huesca and Zaragoza, as both sides battle to remain in the division.

Zaragoza goalkeeper Esteban Andrada saved a penalty in the first half, but he was unable to do anything about the second as Oscar Sielva made amends from the spot.

Zaragoza could have attempted to find an equaliser in the last minute, but instead of taking a late free-kick, Andrada lost his head, throwing a punch and getting sent off in incredible circumstances.

Three red cards were handed out, as Andrade and midfielder Dani Tasende were dismissed for Zaragoza, while Dani Jimenez was sent off for Huesca.

Winner: Andre-Pierre Gignac

Andre-Pierre Gignac played for France at the 2010 World Cup and has silverware at home from EURO 2016. He has spent the last 11 seasons in Mexico, and his arrival at UANL Tigres literally changed the league.

Thanks to him, Tigres have won five championships, and when it was time for the final game, the fans gave the French striker a wonderful send-off.

In the 10th minute of the match, a choreography was performed in honour of him as he wears the No. 10.

In the second half, he came off the bench as Tigres won 5-1 against Mazatlan. The Frenchman really wanted to score, but it was not to be. He scored 193 goals for the club!

Winner: Federico Dimarco

Despite champions-elect Inter Milan throwing away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 at Torino, wing back Federico Dimarco made Serie A history.

The Italian set up both of his side's goals - his 16th and 17th assists of the season - breaking the record for most in a single Serie A season.

A stellar feat for a player enjoying an exceptional season. Only Bruno Fernandes and Michael Olise (18) have more than him in Europe's top-five leagues.

Don't bet against him reaching the 20-assist mark before the season ends.

Chances are you’re about to lose.
