Chelsea v Brighton (27/09/2025)

Chelsea will host Brighton at Stamford Bridge with both sides looking to recover from frustrating Premier League results in the last round.

Match News and Current Form

Chelsea suffered their first league defeat of the season against Manchester United last weekend  in a topsy-turvy match at Old Trafford. Few would bet against them bouncing back at Stamford Bridge, where the west Londoners are unbeaten in each of their last 12 home league games (W9, D3). Defence has been the bedrock of that success, with the Blues keeping seven clean sheets in the last nine games within that run, including the last three in a row, affording them the chance to keep four home clean sheets in a row for the first time since March 2021.

Brighton’s underwhelming start to the campaign continued after they surrendered a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 with Tottenham in their previous Premier League outing at the Amex, leaving the Seagulls with a modest haul of five points from five games this season. That is by far their worst start to a Premier League season in six years, and even after smashing six goals past Barnsley on Tuesday there is further reason for trepidation given Fabian Hürzeler's side also lost their last two away league games against Everton and Bournemouth respectively. The German will be hoping for more consistency in the coming weeks to live up to their tag of top-six challengers.

Head-to-Head History

Chelsea won each of their last three competitive home H2Hs, and goals certainly haven’t been in short supply, with at least three scored in seven of the previous eight H2Hs.

Betting Analysis

Given the free-scoring nature of recent matches and the hosts’ fine record at Stamford Bridge, it might be worth backing Chelsea to win and over 2.5 total goals.
