Seattle Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III is expected to hit free agency after the Super Bowl MVP was left untagged.

Kenneth Walker III was not given a franchise tag by the Seattle Seahawks, leaving the running back to test free agency as an unrestricted free agent once the new league year starts on March 11th.

The former Michigan Wolverine led the Seattle Seahawks in scrimmage yards with 161 in their 29-13 Super Bowl LX win over the New England Patriots and was awarded Super Bowl MVP, becoming the first running back to win the award since Terrell Davis in 1998.

By hitting free agency, Walker III becomes just the fourth reigning Super Bowl MVP to hit free agency in NFL history.

If the Seahawks decide not to give Walker III a new deal by March 11th, the reigning Super Bowl champions are expected to address the running back position in free agency or the draft, with Zach Charbonnet currently rehabilitating from a torn ACL.

The explosive Kenneth Walker III passed the 1,000-yard mark in rushing yards for the second time in his career in 2025, following a 1,050-yard season in his rookie year, which remains his best season as a rusher.

In his four seasons in Seattle, Walker III played 58 games (54 starts) and racked up 3,555 rushing yards, 1,005 receiving yards and 31 total touchdowns.

In the 2025 postseason, Walker III starred by rushing for 313 yards and 4 touchdowns, while also recording 107 receiving yards.
