Anders Antonsen suffers shocking defeat in the first round of the Indonesian Open

Anders Antonsen on Thursday surprisingly crashed out of the first round of the Indonesian Open against Hong Kongs Ng Ka Long 18-21, 21-18, 21-15

Anders Antonsen on Thursday surprisingly lost in three sets against Ng Ka Long from Hong Kong, and thus the Dane is out of the Super 500 tournament, Indonesia Masters, after just one match.

Ng Ka Long, who is ranked 20th in the world, put up a good fight throughout the match and won 18-21, 21-18, 21-15.

Ng Ka Long thus advances to the second round, the tournament's round of 16.

In the first set, Antonsen took a big lead 8-2, but Ng Ka Long reduced the deficit to 7-8.

Antonsen managed to pull away once again and take a solid lead 19-12, but Ng Ka Long again managed to come back into the match before Antonsen finally closed out the set after initially missing three set points. 

Antonsen got off to a good start again in the second set, which was somewhat more even after a Danish lead of 4-2.

The momentum often changed during the second set, and even though Antonsen led 18-17, Ng Ka Long hit back to win the second set. 

In the third set, Antonsen got off to a good start again and led 6-3, but from there, everything crumbled for the world number two.

Ng Ka Long won five successive points and edged ahead 13-8. Antonsen reduced the lead to 15-19 in the final phase, but it was not enough, and Ng Ka Long took the victory in three sets.
