As expected badminton powerhouse China proved too strong for Denmark in the semi-final of the Thomas Cup as the Chinese booked their ticket for the final in comfortable fashion with a 3-0 win.

The semi-final became the final stop for Denmark at this year's Thomas Cup, the Team World Championships C in badminton.

China was too strong an opponent for Denmark, who lost 0-3 in matches without winning a set in two of the matches.

Despite the defeat to China, Denmark managed to impress during the tournament, winning bronze medals as a reward for their efforts.

Anders Antonsen started Saturday's match against China with a showdown against the World No. 1 Shi Yuqi, where the Chinese proved much too strong for Antonsen, who lost 16-21, 5-21.

Along the way, Shi Yuqi was lucky several times with net rollers, and it ended up being decisive in the opening set.

In the second set, Shi Yuqi raised his level, and Antonsen was basically humiliated against the World No.1

In the next match, the men's doubles team with Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen tried to restore parity, but despite a persistent Danish effort, they did not succeed.

Wei Keng Liang and Chang Wang won the match 21-18, 21-17 and doubled the Chinese lead to 2-0.

Thus, Magnus Johannesen had to win his singles to keep the race against China alive.

Despite an uplifting performance, Magnus Johannesen lost 19-21, 21-18, 9-21 to Li Shifeng, who is ranked seventh in the world.

Magnus Johannesen, who is ranked 41st in the world, was ahead 12-8 in the first set, but the Chinese came roaring back into the match. Johannesen managed to keep pace with the former All England winner until 18-18, but then the Chinese won three of the next four points and thus the set.

In the second set, an unimpressed Magnus Johannesen offered more than honorable resistance, and the Dane took a 15-11 lead.

Just like in the first set, Li Shifeng regained his rhythm and took a 17-15 lead.

But a stubborn Magnus Johannesen equalized at 18-18 and subsequently managed to take the next three points to give Denmark hope before the third set.

However, in the third set, Li Shifeng had the best start, and Magnus Johannesen made more and more mistakes to silence the Danish supporters at the Forum Horsens, and the Chinese won the final set in comfortable fashion, 21-9.

China will face France in Sunday's Thomas Cup final.
