Anders Antonsen saved three match points against the 33-year-old Indian H.S. Prannoy to win 21-8, 17-21, 23-21 and book his ticket for the third round of the World Championships in Men's singles in Paris

In Paris, the Aarhus native proved stronger than the 33-year-old Indian former top player H.S. Prannoy, who had the second-seeded Antonsen on the ropes for extensive periods of the clash.

After the first set, Prannoy looked like someone who had given up. But he took advantage of Antonsen's shaky and nervous play after an otherwise superior first set.

Anders Antonsen began at a high pace and at a high level which Prannoy could not match at all and only showed glimpses of why he was once ranked six in the world.

Although he seemed very discouraged in the first set, Prannoy regained his stylish stride in the second set to frustrate Antonsen.

The Dane suddenly could not find his feet on the court and made many unforced errors. At the same time, Prannoy found a previously unseen level and received great support from the stands right behind him.

Prannoy took the second set, and with a 4-1 lead, he also made a terrific start to the third set and continued to be one step ahead in the majority of the set.

Prannoy had three match points, but Anders Antonsen somehow managed to keep his cool and turn the tide in his favour.

Anders Antonsen can now look forward to another huge clash when he meets home-court hero Toma Popov in the third round.
