Kyle Tucker (27) is heading to the friendly confines of Wrigley Field after being dealt to the Chicago Cubs on Friday in a deal with the Houston Astros.

The Astros received infielder Isaac Paredes, pitcher Hayden Wesneski, and third baseman Cam Smith (Cubs seventh-ranked prospect, 73rd overall) as part of the deal.

Tucker slashed 289/.408/.585 last season with the Astros while hitting 23 home runs and 49 RBI. Tucker missed some time this past season due to injuries but it didn't stop the former Gold Glover and Silver Slugger from earning an All-Star appearance.

Tucker will be a free agent after the 2025 season, leaving fans wondering where he will end up if he manages to put on another stellar seasonal performance. It was already reported that the young star is looking to land a big-time contract once the time comes.

And with the league-wide infamous Scott Boras as his agent, it is best to believe Tucker will be looking for an enormous contract from the highest bidder.

The Cubs ended last season with 83 wins, finishing third in the NL Central, losing the tiebreaker to the St. Louis Cardinals, who also had the same amount of wins.

Meanwhile, the reigning AL West champion Astros will look to move on from a major bat in their lineup.

Parades slashed .238/.346/.393 this past season for the Cubs and Tampa Bay Rays. He managed to show some power with 19 home runs and 80 RBI, all of which was a downgrade from his breakout season with the Rays in 2023.

Wesneski had a solid year for the Cubs as a reliever. In 67.2 innings pitched, he posted a 3.85 ERA while giving up 56 hits and walking 21 while striking out 67. The Texas native will be entering his fourth season.

As for Smith, the promising prospect slashed an impressive .313/.396/.609 with seven home runs and 24 RBI in 134 plate appearances last season across A, A+, and AA ball. Smith was drafted in the first round of the 2024 MLB Draft out of Florida State.
