The eighth week (May 19th to May 25th) is over with and it was one for the history books as it was packed full of highlights as always!

We witnessed yet another week with at least half a dozen walk-off wins, some star-studded comebacks, and some big pitching moments that stole the spotlight this time around.

As always, the highlights this week will be divided into the following categories: history, walk-offs, home runs, fielding, and pitching (where you'll see Houser's story)!

History

We all love MLB debuts but we love them even more when they're successful - like this one when Washington Nationals rookie Robert Hassell III recorded his first-ever hit.

Hassell wasn't the only Nationals player to record his first-ever career hit - teammate Keibert Ruiz joined in with one of his own in the same game!

Houston Astros shortstop Jeremy Pena recorded his 500th career hit this past week and it came in the form of an RBI triple!

Boston Red Sox infielder Rafael Devers not only set a single-game career high with eight RBI, but he also climbed to No. 10 on the franchise's all-time home run list with a pair against the division rival Baltimore Orioles!

Walk offs

The Tampa Bay Rays stay hot as they've won five straight games, with one of them coming from Taylor Walls's sacrifice fly to bring the runner home!

If there's any team that knows what it's like to be hot right now, it's the Minnesota Twins. And this was just one of two walk-off wins from them this past week - this one courtesy of Kody Clemens!

The second walk-off for the Twins this past week had a little more excitement behind it as Ty France launched a home run to win the game!

New York Yankees' Jasson Dominguez didn't even need to question this walk-off in his home ballpark!

Not only did Devers make Red Sox history this past week, but he also hit a walk-off against the Orioles in the same series!

Christian Walker was ready for liftoff after he won the game for the Houston Astros with this walk-off blast to left field!

Home runs

Daulton Varsho is back in our highlights yet again and this time with a grand salami!

We love home runs, but we love it when the same player does it multiple times in a game like Nick Kurtz did for the Athletics this past week!

Milwaukee Brewers star Christian Yelich joined in on the dual-homers as he accomplished the same feat no more than an hour ago!

No asterisks around these two bombs from Houston Astros star Jose Altuve!

Pete Crow-Armstrong continues to be one of the most exciting players in baseball this season and he showed us why with a two-home run night this past week, with one of them being a grand slam!

Pittsburgh Pirates young star Oneil Cruz Jr. continues to rake as he has now hit three home runs in the past three games (May 23-25)!

Ronald Acuna Jr. made his long-awaited return for the Atlanta Braves and he gave the fans something to be excited for after crushing home runs in back-to-back games!

Fielding

Even though he's not particularly known for his fielding, New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo is back again in our fielding highlights of the week!

St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Lars Nootbar goes leaping into the wall for this incredible catch in foul territory!

The Baltimore Orioles don't have much to be excited about these days but this play by outfielder Heston Kjerstad was definitely one of them this past week!

Oh look, Acuna is in the highlights for this week again - but this time because of his arm!

Make the play no matter what and that's exactly what Chicago Cubs third baseman Matt Shaw did here on this incredible out!

Philadelphia Phillies centerfielder Brandon Marsh made sure to let the opposing Athletics walk it off so easily!

Usually, rookies make their MLB highlights debut with hits. But this time around, Texas Rangers left fielder Alejandro Osuna made his MLB debut with an outstanding diving catch!

Pitching

Possibly the best story of the week. The Chicago White Sox signed pitcher Adrian Houser on May 20th and started him the same exact day. The results? A shutout win!

Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Jack Flaherty is going to want to keep that ball as he recorded his 1,000th strikeout this past week!

Flaherty's pitching teammate, Tarik Skubal, joins him in this week's highlights after completing his first-ever complete game shutout!
