The home run came on the first pitch Ohtani saw during his first at-bat of the game against current American League Cy Young Award candidate Max Fried.
His home run to tie it up 1-1 came after Yankees star Aaron Judge did the same thing in his first at-bat, bringing his season home run total up to 19.
Ohtani became the first person to reach the 20-home run mark on Tuesday.
Then, later in the sixth inning, Ohtani knocked out his second home run of the game for No. 22!
Now he has retaken the lead from Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh, who smacked his 20th of the season on Friday night as well.
Update: Raleigh has also hit his second homer of the night to bring his season total to 21!
The home runs put Ohtani at 37 RBI for the season and bring both his average (.297) and OPS (1.073) up.
AppleTV+ is currently streaming the game between the Dodgers and Yankees.
