Freeman-Liberty racked up 38 points, 13 rebounds and ten assists in a two-game stint for the Bullets earlier this year that made it clear why the club had headhunted him in the first place and were keen to have him back despite his sudden departure.
A spot opened up in the Bullets roster after the recent release of Jaylen Adams last week, at which point the club said they were making "quick, decisive moves" to secure "elite talent".
That talent will come in the form of Freeman-Liberty and one other import to be announced in coming days.
The Bullets said on Tuesday that "the decision to re-sign Freeman-Liberty reflects both the Club’s support for him as a person and a clear belief in his outstanding talent".
“It was tough for Javon to open up to us about his wellbeing and I’m grateful he trusted our Club enough to do that and to seek the support he needed,” Bullets CEO Mal Watts said in a statement.
"What makes me most proud is that he chose Brisbane as the environment where he feels safe, supported and ready to thrive.
“Javon has put in a large amount of work over the past six weeks so he’s in a much stronger position to return.
“I truly believe we’re about to see Javon Freeman-Liberty at his best yet.
“This season has been turbulent. Now it’s about getting to work and chasing wins.”
