Wednesday's highlights
• As many expected, reigning champions PSG produced a dominant display at home to Liverpool, but they weren't at their very best in the final third, only winning 2-0. As a result, the Reds head back to Anfield still alive in the tie.
• It was a nightmare of a night at Camp Nou for Barcelona, who went down to 10 men against Atletico Madrid when Pau Cubarsi was sent off and then went 2-0 down in the tie courtesy of a stunning free-kick from Julian Alvarez and a cool finish from Alexander Sorloth, leaving Hansi Flick's side with a huge mountain to climb next week.
Wednesday's results
Key updates to keep you informed:
Wednesday, April 8th
23:13 CET - And with that, we're at the halfway point of this year's quarter-finals, with things finely poised in each of the ties after four fascinating first legs.
Real Madrid and Sporting CP head into their respective deciders with Bayern Munich and Arsenal just a goal down, while Liverpool will have the famous home advantage that has roared them on to perform miracles in the past and Barcelona undoubtedly have the quality to turn things around.
Our Champions League tracker will be back next Tuesday to cover all four second legs. Bring it on.
22:59 CET - It's ended 2-0 in Barcelona too, but not to the side you probably would have expected to claim such a win before the match, with Diego Simeone winning at Camp Nou for the first time ever.
Barca played fairly well after the red card given they were a man down, but now have a huge job on their hands in Madrid nevertheless.

22:52 CET - It's all over in Paris and the final result is one that Luis Enrique and Arne Slot will both probably be fairly satisfied with.
PSG take a 2-0 lead to Anfield after a dominant display, but some poor finishing from the hosts means that Liverpool are still alive in this tie; after all, they've famously overturned bigger deficits in the past.

22:33 CET - It's 2-0 to the visitors at Camp Nou! Making the most of their one-man advantage, Atleti have extended their advantage through Alexander Sorloth, with the striker tucking away a cross from the left on the volley.
Barcelona are in serious trouble now.

22:25 CET - PSG double their lead with a beautiful goal! A brilliant team move leads to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia going through on goal, and the winger keeps his cool to round Mamardashvili and make it 2-0!

22:20 CET - 15 minutes into the second half of the first leg, Liverpool are very much still in their tie with the reigning champions. They've had two efforts on goal since the break and are looking just as likely to score as their hosts now.
21:53 CET - Half-time in both ties, and we have had some drama.
After their opener from Desire Doue, PSG have spurned chance after chance to add to their lead, allowing Liverpool to hang in the first leg.

And, as we just reported, it's all kicked off in Catalonia. A goal from Julian Alvarez and that red card for Pau Cubarsi has given Atletico Madrid a huge advantage in the first leg. Let's see if they can make Barcelona pay in the second half.

21:46 CET - It's a sucker punch before the break for Barcelona! Just seconds after Pau Cubarsi is given a straight red after VAR recommended to upgrade the original yellow, they have fallen behind to Atletico Madrid thanks to a goal from a Julian Alvarez free-kick.
The tie has been turned on its head at Camp Nou!

21:36 CET - If we are to get another goal at Parc des Princes, it feels like it will be for the hosts. They have been in control of the ball since their opener, with Kvicha Kvaratskhelia forcing a good save out of Georgian compatriot Giorgi Mamardashvili.
Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid have been forced into an early change, with the injured David Hancko being replaced by Marc Pubil.

21:23 CET - Goalless at Camp Nou so far, but it's Marcus Rashford who has been at the heart of the action so far, taking three shots - more than any other player - with two finding the target.
21:14 CET - PSG are ahead against Liverpool! It's a stunner to break the deadlock from Desire Doue, or so it seems. The attacker cuts in just outside the box and curls a shot into the top corner over the goalkeeper, but on second glance, it gets a wicked deflection to see it home.
No matter which way in went in, it's Doue's fifth of the competition.

21:10 CET - So far, so quiet in the two matches, and as we expected, Liverpool have opted for a back five out of possession tonight. The low block they are deploying should stifle PSG's attack, but they have already made a couple of threatening runs into the area.
21:01 CET - We are underway in Barcelona and Paris - here we go!
20:55 CET - With the two kick-offs fast approaching, remember we have live audio commentary of both matches, which you can find with our links above.

20:40 CET - Before we bring you live coverage of the two Champions League tie, let's check in with the first leg of the UEFA Europa League tie between Braga and Betis.
The Iberian clash has finished 1-1 with a Cucho Hernandez penalty on the hour mark, cancelling out a fifth-minute strike from Braga's Florian Grillitsch.

20:00 CET - Over to Spain, where Barcelona and Atletico Madrid clash in their first leg, just days after meeting in LaLiga.
The Catalan side came out on top in the first of three quick-fire encounters, winning 2-1 at the Metropolitano.
They meet at Camp Nou tonight, and Hansi Flick has made two alterations to the weekend's side, with Fermin Lopez and Roland Araujo dropping out for Robert Lewandowski and Jules Kounde.
Meanwhile, Diego Simeone has brought in David Hancko for Clement Lenglet at the back, with Matteo Ruggeri taking the left-back spot instead of Nicolas Gonzalez.
There are more changes further forward with Julian Alvarez, Ademola Lookman and Marcos Llorente all starting tonight.

19:46 CET - We have our team news ahead of tonight's Champions League ties, and there will be some raised eyebrows amongst Liverpool fans.
After a thrashing by Manchester City at the weekend, Arne Slot has seemingly opted for a back five to give his team more solidity. It could also be a back four, mind you.
It means all three of the Reds' fit centre-backs start, with Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong as potential wing-backs. Mohamed Salah is on the bench too.
For PSG, Matvey Safonov starts in goal despite a couple of dodgy performances in recent weeks, whilst Luis Enrique has put out his strongest and most potent XI.

18:10 CET - Hello and welcome to Flashscore's live coverage of the second night of the 2025/26 Champions League quarter-finals!
Last night kicked off the business end of club football's biggest competition in style, with Bayern Munich beating Real Madrid in a thriller, and tonight has the potential to be even better.
In Spain, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid will meet for the fourth time in 2026 and the second time in the last few days, with Barca looking to build on the 2-1 LaLiga win they claimed against their opponents at the weekend and avenge the semi-final exit they suffered at the hands of Diego Simeone's men in the Copa del Rey.
In the French capital meanwhile, reigning champions PSG will play host to Liverpool in a repeat of last year's last-16 clash, which went all the way to penalties.
Unlike back then, Arne Slot's are enduring a disastrous domestic campaign, making them the firm underdogs and this competition their last hope of success this season.
Read our preview of that clash here.
Tuesday, April 7th
23:25 CET - That’s all from the Champions League for today, but be sure to tune in again tomorrow as the quarter-final first legs continue with Barcelona hosting Atletico Madrid and PSG taking on Liverpool in Paris - two incredibly tasty matchups!
22:55 CET - That’s full-time in Madrid, and Bayern will take a 2-1 lead back to Munich for next week’s second leg in the quarter-finals.
Real Madrid won’t be happy with the result, but Kylian Mbappe’s goal at least reduced the deficit to one and brought them back into the tie. Bayern might even come to rue not putting it to bed this evening; they had the chances to!

Over in Lisbon, the other match is over as well, with Arsenal edging Sporting 1-0 thanks to Kai Havertz's late winner. The Gunners will take the tie to London in the driving seat.

22:52 CET - Kai Havertz has scored very late on to give Arsenal a 1-0 lead over Sporting in Lisbon! With barely a minute to go in the match, that could prove vital.

22:34 CET - Real Madrid are back in it! It's 2-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu thanks to Kylian Mbappe, who has slotted home Trent Alexander-Arnold's perfectly angled low cross to breathe some life into the tie for Los Blancos. Game (very much) on.
Incredibly, that is Mbappe's 14th goal in the Champions League this season.

22:25 CET - It looked as though Arsenal had taken the lead over Sporting in Lisbon, but Martin Zubimendi's goal has been ruled out for offside, meaning it is still goalless in Portugal.
It hasn't been a match of many chances, but the Gunners might muster another one. They've favoured going down the right side heavily today, as illustrated below.

22:05 CET - We are back underway in Madrid, and before the match in Lisbon has even kicked off, Bayern have doubled their lead over Real almost immediately, and who else but Harry Kane!
The Englishman has arrowed in a well-placed shot from the edge of the area after being fed by Michael Olise. That's Kane's 11th goal in the Champions League this season.

2-0 feels like a long way back for Real now... but there is plenty of time in the tie, it must be said.
21:49 CET - The half-time whistle has blown in both quarter-finals, which are finely poised at the break.
Bayern are very much worthy leaders at the Bernabeu, but Los Blancos have threatened on the break, while Sporting are more than holding their own against Arsenal.

21:42 CET - Bayern open the scoring! Luis Diaz has stroked home a through ball from Serge Gnabry to finish off a lovely move and give the German champions a richly deserved lead!

21:34 CET - Arsenal are dominating the ball in Lisbon, but it's the hosts who have looked more threatening so far, having four efforts to their opponents' one.
21:20 CET - It's been a fast start in the Spanish capital, with Dayot Upamecano having an effort cleared off the line and Manuel Neuer being forced into two good saves at the other end.
It's early days, but Bayern are looking stronger.
21:00 CET - The 2025/26 Champions League quarter-finals are underway!
20:40 CET - Tonight is a night all about strikers.
In Madrid, all eyes will be on Kane and Kylian Mbappe, perhaps the two biggest names in football without a Champions League title to their name. Can Kane step up and show that he can deliver for Bayern even on the biggest of stages? And can Mbappe end a two-month goal drought at club level and banish any doubts as to whether he can lead the line effectively alongside Vinicius Junior?
Over in Portugal, Gyokeres will be looking to bite the hand that fed him at his former stomping ground, while Luis Suarez - his replacement at Sporting - will be the danger man for the hosts, having scored 33 goals already for his club this season.
20:00 CET - Arsenal are fielding a much stronger side than the one that was knocked out of the FA Cup at the weekend, with William Saliba, Declan Rice, Martin Zubimendi and Viktor Gyokeres all coming into the starting XI.
Sporting's suspended captain Morten Hjulmand is replaced by 19-year-old Joao Simoes in midfield.

19:50 CET - Kick-off for tonight's games is getting ever closer, and the lineups are now in, with the big news being that Harry Kane is starting for Bayern having previously been an injury doubt.
18-year-old Thiago Pitarch starts ahead of Jude Bellingham for the hosts, playing his 10th match of senior football.

18:00 CET - Good evening and welcome to a fascinating night of Champions League quarter-final action! Whilst Real Madrid's clash against old foes Bayern Munich is the headline match, Sporting CP vs Arsenal has plenty of intrigue too.
Expect fireworks in Madrid, given the history between the two clubs in this competition. Their most recent meeting came in the 2023/24 campaign at the semi-final stage, with Real coming out on top over two legs.
They met in Madrid in the first leg that season too and ultimately it was Real's 2-1 victory at the Bernabeu that decided the tie. Therefore, Vincent Kompany will be desperate to avoid defeat tonight and given his side's impressive form and Alvaro Arbeloa's domestic troubles, he will fancy his chances.
Over to Lisbon, and although Arsenal are the favourites, Sporting will look to Arsenal's poor form as a reason for optimism, as well as the fact that they have won their last three matches in all competitions. Mikel Arteta's side will be desperate to respond though, after a difficult few weeks for the club, and a quarter-final first leg win would be the perfect way to do that.
