Teenage darts sensation Luke Litter (17) is among the names shortlisted for the BBC's Young Sports Personality of the Year award after a breakthrough year in 2024.

Littler won an astounding 10 PDC titles in his debut year on the professional circuit, including the Premier League, World Series and Grand Slam of Darts.

At just 17 years old he is one of four players in history to claim 10 or more titles in a calendar year alongside Phil Taylor, Michael van Gerwen and Peter Wright.

Littler admitted that the nomination caps off a magnificent year on a personal level.

"It's been an amazing year and to be in the running for Young Sports Personality of the Year tops it off," he said.

"If I have brought more fans to darts, then that's all that matters to me."

The young star is also expected to go far in the upcoming World Championships, which begin on Sunday, 15th December and end on Friday, 3rd January 2025.

Also shortlisted for the award are Team GB Olympians William Ellard (swimming) and Sky Brown (skateboarding) - the winner will be announced on Tuesday, 17th December.
