The Los Angeles Dodgers signed free agent All-Star outfielder Kyle Tucker to a four-year, $240 million deal on Thursday, according to multiple Major League Baseball insiders.

His contract includes opt-outs after the second and third seasons. The signing follows the Dodgers' other big free-agent deal this offseason, when they gave top relief pitcher Edwin Diaz a three-year, $69 million deal.

Tucker was one of the biggest names in free agency this offseason and now he'll be joining a Los Angeles Dodgers team fresh off their second-straight World Series.

The 28-year-old slashed .266/.377/.464 with 22 home runs, 73 RBI, and 25 stolen bases in 136 games last season with the Chicago Cubs, earning a fourth All-Star selection and his second Silver Slugger Award.

Tucker will be entering his ninth season in the MLB.

He's a career .273 hitter with 147 home runs, 490 RBI, and 119 stolen bases in 769 games. The newest Dodgers outfielder has hit at least 22 home runs in five straight seasons.

In three of those five seasons, Tucker hit above a .280 batting average (2021, 2023-2024) and made the All-Star team each season in the past four years, including fifth in MVP voting in 2023 when he hit 29 home runs with a career-high 112 RBI, which led the National League, and a career-high 30 stolen bases.

He spent the first seven years of his career with the Houston Astros, debuting in 2018, but not playing close to a full season until 2021 (140 games).
