The 2025/26 season is heading into the business end of proceedings, and while team success always takes precedence, there is endless major discussion around who the best player in the world is, with eyes towards the Ballon d'Or 2026.

In a Flashscore feature updated once a month, we rank the top 10 players in the world based on their performances for club and country across multiple of the biggest competitions, using only events from the ongoing season.

The stats quoted below are accurate up to, and including, Thursday, April 9th.

10. David Raya - Arsenal (New)

Replacing his Arsenal teammate Gabriel in the rankings, David Raya is the first goalkeeper to make the top 10, after an exceptional run of form from the Spaniard.

Raya has had a simply sensational campaign, and there is a serious conversation to be had that he has been Arsenal’s Player of the Season.

He has 15 clean sheets in the Premier League and seven in the Champions League, more than anyone else in Europe's top-five leagues across competitions.

He also picked up the Man of the Match award in his side’s 1-0 away win at Sporting in their Champions League quarter-final first leg this week, making a number of huge saves.

Incredibly, he has a 90% save percentage in Europe this season. Since 2003/04, only three players who played 500+ minutes have recorded higher.

His importance to the team was magnified when Arsenal lost in the Carabao Cup final to Manchester City and fell to Southampton in the FA Cup quarter-finals, with Kepa Arrizabalaga in goal for both. Would they have lost those games with Raya between the sticks?

He will be vital for the Gunners for the rest of the season, sitting nine points clear at the summit of the Premier League and with one foot in the Champions League semi-finals.

9. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia - PSG (New)

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia enters the Power Rankings for the first time after some magnificent performances on the biggest stage in the knockout rounds of the Champions League.

The Georgian hasn’t always brought his best stuff in Ligue 1 this season, but he raised his game ridiculously in the last month. With eight goals and four assists in the Champions League, Kvaratskhelia has just picked up three consecutive Man of the Match awards in the competition.

The winger had two goals and an assist against Chelsea in the first leg of their last 16 clash, before following that up with a goal in the second leg.

He also shone with a goal against Liverpool in a 2-0 first-leg win in the quarter-finals, as the defending champions took a big step to the semi-finals. They look well on course to win Ligue 1, so they can turn their full focus to the Champions League.

8. Erling Haaland - Manchester City (Down 4)

It has been a relatively quiet last month for Erling Haaland personally, but he has still managed to get his hands on English football’s first piece of silverware of the season.

Man City defeated Arsenal 2-0 to win the Carabao Cup, yet they still remain quite a distance behind their opponents in the Premier League.

However, they are the big favourites to win the FA Cup now, with Haaland netting a hat-trick against Liverpool to help City book their spot in the semi-finals. Championship side Southampton await them.

His performances haven’t been great at all in 2026, with his last Premier League goal coming two months ago. But if he can have a big end to the campaign and City can somehow reel in Arsenal at the top, the Norwegian can climb up these rankings.

7. Declan Rice - Arsenal (-)

Arsenal remain in serious Premier League and Champions League contention, but it was a difficult month for the club in the domestic cups.

However, Rice delivered some very strong performances in Europe, helping Arsenal past Bayer Leverkusen in the last 16 - including scoring a fabulous goal in the second leg - and to a first-leg win over Sporting.

The all-action midfielder has looked like he is running on fumes lately, but a two-week rest after not playing for England during the international break will have done him good. He will need to be at his best during the run-in.

6. Luis Diaz - Bayern Munich (-)

It has been another magnificent month for Bayern Munich and their jaw-dropping front three. Luis Diaz continues to be exceptional on the left wing for the Bavarians, and now has 15 goals and 11 assists in the Bundesliga.

In the Champions League, the Colombian scored the crucial opener in their 2-1 quarter-final first leg win at Real Madrid, while also registering a goal and two assists across two legs against Atalanta in the last 16.

For many, they are the favourites to win the Champions League, and will now be confident of finishing the job at the Allianz Arena against Real. They are also nine points clear at the top of the Bundesliga, all but wrapping up another title.

5. Vitinha - PSG (Up 3)

Another consistently high-quality month from Vitinha, pulling the strings in the heart of midfield for the French and European champions.

A goal in the first leg against Chelsea was his only one of the month, but he never delivered anything less than a 7/10 performance, running the show against Nice in Ligue 1 and Liverpool in Europe.

Against Liverpool, he had the most touches on the pitch (147), the most successful passes (132), completed two of two tackles, and had a game-high 96% pass accuracy.

4. Kylian Mbappe - Real Madrid (Down 2)

Kylian Mbappe has recently returned from injury into the starting XI for Real Madrid, which has unfortunately coincided with two potentially fatal losses.

A defeat to Mallorca in LaLiga has seen them fall seven points behind Barcelona at the summit, while their first-leg defeat to Bayern means they have plenty of work to do in Germany.

He did score Madrid’s goal against Bayern, and also bagged for France against Brazil in an international friendly. He now has 45 goals this season, which is exceptional. Yet it feels like his club may fall short of expectations.

3. Michael Olise - Bayern Munich (Up 2)

Michael Olise just seems to keep on getting better and better. The French winger is having an otherworldly season, and he showed everyone just how good he is with his performance at the Bernabeu.

Olise delivered one of the best individual performances of the season, tormenting Madrid’s Alvaro Carreras all game with his unbelievable confidence and ability on the ball. He also picked up an assist for their second goal.

In the first leg of their last 16 game with Atlanta, he had two goals and an assist, while also getting on the scoresheet against Union Berlin in the Bundesliga.

The creative hub of Bayern, he has 18 assists in the league, and is just three away from matching Thomas Muller’s record of 21 in the 2019/20 season.

2. Lamine Yamal - Barcelona (Up 1)

Barcelona look to be closing in on defending their LaLiga title, but after suffering a 2-0 home defeat to Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final, continental glory may have to wait.

However, Lamine remains absolutely dazzling, and was Barcelona's best player in that defeat to Atletico, trying his best to turn things around.

Prior to that loss, Barca were unbeaten in nine games, a run which included a 2-1 win at Atletico in LaLiga. He scored in both legs of their last 16 tie with Newcastle, too.

1. Harry Kane - Bayern Munich (-)

It has been a slightly subdued period by the astronomically high standards of Harry Kane, but that was only because of an injury the England captain suffered. Even then, he managed four goals in his three starts, including some vital ones in the Champions League.

A brilliant brace against Atalanta in the last 16 second leg was followed by a clinical finish away at the Bernabeu, scoring goals on the biggest stage.

He has 11 goals in Europe this season, as well as 31 in the Bundesliga. He needs 10 goals in his final seven league games to match Robert Lewandowski’s goal-scoring record, and you certainly wouldn’t bet against him.

His value to the national team was always made evident. Kane was rested for both friendlies, and England suffered a loss to Japan and were held to a draw by Uruguay.

There is a serious lack of depth in the country's centre-forward department, and they will be desperate for him to stay fully fit during the World Cup this summer.
