20:25 CET - What a shock on Merseyside! A relentless Everton have demolished a hapless Chelsea 3-0, with Beto netting twice in the win.

It's another poor performance under Liam Rosenior in what has turned out to be a bad week.

Dortmund have kept pace with Bundesliga leaders Bayern, thanks to a 3-2 win over Hamburg.

A late Ramy Bensebaini penalty, his second of the game, earned the hosts all three points after being 2-0 down.

17:50 CET - Next up in the Premier League on this staggered Saturday is another important game in the race for Champions League qualification as Everton host top-five hopefuls Chelsea at 18:30 CET.

Liam Rosenior's side will be wanting to put their humbling Champions League exit firmly behind them by getting their Premier League campaign back on track this evening.

After Liverpool's shock defeat earlier, victory will see the Blues leapfrog Arne Slot's side into fifth spot and back into the driving seat in the race for UCL football. Aside from the absent Reece James (who is set for a spell on the sidelines), Rosenior has named a strong side as Cole Palmer, Pedro Neto and Joao Pedro lead an exciting attack.

17:30 CET - The Bundesliga leaders and Europe's form side Bayern Munich have produced an exceptional display en route to a 4-0 thrashing against Union Berlin this afternoon. Bayern dominated possession throughout, ending the match with 74% of the ball whilst taking 31 shots and creating an expected 5.5 goals - a classy display from a very good team.

It was a familiar story with the goal scorers too - Serge Gnabry scored a brace, Harry Kane scored in trademark fashion and Michael Olise scored a sensational solo goal as Bayern moved 12 points clear at the top of the league.

17:10 CET - The first major clash in Serie A today comes from Milan as AC Milan host Torino at 18:00 CET. Defeat to rivals Lazio last weekend dented Max Allegri's side's hopes of mounting a serious title challenge, but it is not over yet, and they will be keen to retake second spot in the league after Napoli's win yesterday.

Team news is in for that clash:

15:49 CET - Coming off the back of their 4-0 win against Galatasaray in the Champions League, Liverpool have come crashing back down to earth with a really damaging 2-1 defeat at Brighton.

The Seagulls were excellent and fully deserving of their win, boosting their hopes of Europe. Meanwhile, Liverpool's goal of qualifying for the Champions League takes a major hit.

Up next at 16:00 CET is Fulham vs Burnley, in the only afternoon game in the Premier League.

14:35 CET - The Bundesliga's afternoon games get underway in a little under an hour, with table-toppers Bayern Munich continuing their march towards the title with a home game against Union Berlin.

Can Harry Kane continue his freakish goalscoring form and add to his brace against Atalanta in the middle of the week?

12:30 CET - The first match of the weekend comes from the Premier League, and it is a crucial clash for Liverpool in their hunt to qualify for the Champions League. Arne Slot's side visit Brighton at 13:45 CET with a chance to move within three points of rivals Manchester United after Michael Carrick's side drew at Bournemouth last night.

The question is whether Liverpool can come close to replicating the dominance and attacking endeavour they showed against Galatasaray in the Champions League midweek or return to the inconsistent performances that have plagued their season so far.

Team news in for that clash as Mohamed Salah is injured and unavailable for the clash. Check out the full team news below:
