15:45 CET - Let's bring you up to speed with some half-time scores across Europe. Starting in Ligue 1, Lyon are leading Monaco 1-0 through Pavel Sulc's effort, whilst in Serie A, Atalanta are also 1-0 to the good at home to Verona, whilst Bologna and Lazio are goalless at the break.

15:25 CET - Three games in Bundesliga games today, and we start at 15:30 CET with Eintracht Frankfurt travelling to Mainz in the Rhein-Mein derby.

Frankfurt won the first one of the season 1-0, and Mainz will be out for revenge this afternoon, knowing a victory will also give them a much-needed boost in their fight against relegation.

14:58 CET - That Brobbey goal would prove to be a winning one as Sunderland complete a sensational double over local rivals Newcastle United! Newcastle looked tired and lethargic in the second half, but Sunderland were brilliant and deserve the win.

14:48 CET - St James' Park has been silenced as Sunderland take the lead in added time! The only noise that can be heard comes from the now bouncing away end after Brian Brobbey gives the visitors the lead.

It was a smart pull-back from Enzo Le Fee, and on the second attempt, Brobbey found the back of the net to cap off a tireless display from the busy forward.

14:25 CET - It is all over in Serie A and five-star Como thrash Pisa 5-0 in a brilliant display. Stars for the future and present Assane Diao and Nico Paz both scored in an impressive victory from Cesc Fabregas' side, one that sees them move three points clear of fifth-place Juventus.

14:18 CET - Team news is also in from another big game in the Premier League this afternoon as Champions League hopefuls Aston Villa host relegation-battling West Ham.

14:15 CET - Out of nowhere, Sunderland are level in the derby! A threatening corner was punched by Aaron Ramsdale only as far as Chemsdine Talbi, who reacted quickly to poke home an equaliser. Game on!

14:02 CET - Team news is just in for a crucial six-pointer in the relegation battle as struggling Tottenham host Nottingham Forest at 15:15 CET. On paper, it looks like an attacking side from Igor Tudor with Richarlison, Dominic Solanke and Mathys Tel leading the forward line.

Surprisingly, there is no place for Xavi Simons or Kolo Muani despite the duo starring against Atletico Madrid in midweek.

13:50 CET - The Tyne-Wear derby has reached the halfway stage, and it is so far so good for Newcastle. The home side have made an impressive response to being dumped out of Europe and deservedly lead at the break.

However, if it hadn't been for a fingertip save by Melker Ellborg to deny Sven Botman's bullet header just before the break, it would have been a more commanding lead.

13:35 CET - Team news is in from Barcelona as the league leaders host Rayo Vallecano.

Hansi Flick has made just one change from the side that thrashed Newcastle midweek, with Ronald Araujo replacing Eric Garcia after Garcia was subbed off with a knock early on against Newcastle.

13:13 CET - The first blow has been landed in the Tyne-Wear derby, and it has come from the home side! A horror pass out from the back from Sunderland fell straight to Nick Woltemade.

The German forward laid it off for Anthony Gordon, and the Englishman did the rest brilliantly, skipping past his man before finding the bottom corner. It was a classy finish from a man in form.

12:50 CET - The first goal of the day has gone to Como and Assane Diao, who found the bottom corner with immense composure considering he is making his first start since November.

12:00 CET - Team news is also in for the Tyne-Wear derby this afternoon as Newcastle United host arch-rivals Sunderland

On paper, it might read 11th vs 13th, but it is much more than that for Newcastle and Sunderland fans. The Black Cats have enjoyed a fantastic return to the Premier League, exceeding all expectations and they have the chance to make it a truly memorable season by completing the double over their local rivals this afternoon.

After that narrow defeat in December, Eddie Howe's side will be desperate for revenge in front of their home supporters and victory is important if Newcastle have any hope of qualifying for Europe next season.

It hasn't been the season the Magpies would have wanted but their fans won't want their humiliating Champions League exit to be followed by a defeat to Sunderland.

That you can be sure of.

11:40 CET - Team news is in for the Como vs Pisa game as this Super Sunday gets underway!

After Juventus' underwhelming 1-1 draw yesterday evening, Como have the chance to consolidate their place in the top four ahead of the international break. Victory this afternoon would see them move three points clear of the Old Lady in fifth, and it would be a fifth consecutive win in Serie A.

The headline team news is that talented winger Assane Diao makes his first start since November after a frustrating injury-plagued season.

09:00 CET - Good morning and welcome to one of those fascinating days in the football calendar! From the Tyne-Wear derby to the EFL Cup final and the Madrid derby - this is a day of football not to be missed!

Getting the action underway today is an important clash for Como in their pursuit of Champions League qualification as they host Pisa at 12:30 CET. We will bring you team news for that clash at around 11:30 CET.

23:01 CET - It's been a serene night for PSG in Ligue 1, beating 10-man Nice 4-0 away from home.

The big story from the game was a goal for 18-year-old Dro, his first in a PSG shirt since signing from Barcelona in the summer. He is certainly one to watch in the coming years.

22:57 CET - It finishes all square at Elland Road with Leeds United earning another point in their fight for Premier League survival as they draw 0-0 with Brentford.

It's a point that really doesn't help each team's individual quests, but for the Bees, they are still in the race for Europe next season.

22:42 CET - It's a disappointing evening for Juventus. They have dropped points at home to Sassuolo in a 1-1 draw, made even worse as Manuel Locatelli missed a penalty in the 77th minute to see them slip up in the race for fourth in Serie A.

17:50 CET - Next up in the Premier League on this staggered Saturday is another important game in the race for Champions League qualification as Everton host top-five hopefuls Chelsea at 18:30 CET.

Liam Rosenior's side will be wanting to put their humbling Champions League exit firmly behind them by getting their Premier League campaign back on track this evening.

After Liverpool's shock defeat earlier, victory will see the Blues leapfrog Arne Slot's side into fifth spot and back into the driving seat in the race for UCL football. Aside from the absent Reece James (who is set for a spell on the sidelines), Rosenior has named a strong side as Cole Palmer, Pedro Neto and Joao Pedro lead an exciting attack.

17:30 CET - The Bundesliga leaders and Europe's form side Bayern Munich have produced an exceptional display en route to a 4-0 thrashing against Union Berlin this afternoon. Bayern dominated possession throughout, ending the match with 74% of the ball whilst taking 31 shots and creating an expected 5.5 goals - a classy display from a very good team.

It was a familiar story with the goal scorers too - Serge Gnabry scored a brace, Harry Kane scored in trademark fashion and Michael Olise scored a sensational solo goal as Bayern moved 12 points clear at the top of the league.

17:10 CET - The first major clash in Serie A today comes from Milan as AC Milan host Torino at 18:00 CET. Defeat to rivals Lazio last weekend dented Max Allegri's side's hopes of mounting a serious title challenge, but it is not over yet, and they will be keen to retake second spot in the league after Napoli's win yesterday.

Team news is in for that clash:

15:49 CET - Coming off the back of their 4-0 win against Galatasaray in the Champions League, Liverpool have come crashing back down to earth with a really damaging 2-1 defeat at Brighton.

The Seagulls were excellent and fully deserving of their win, boosting their hopes of Europe. Meanwhile, Liverpool's goal of qualifying for the Champions League takes a major hit.

Up next at 16:00 CET is Fulham vs Burnley, in the only afternoon game in the Premier League.

14:35 CET - The Bundesliga's afternoon games get underway in a little under an hour, with table-toppers Bayern Munich continuing their march towards the title with a home game against Union Berlin.

Can Harry Kane continue his freakish goalscoring form and add to his brace against Atalanta in the middle of the week?

12:30 CET - The first match of the weekend comes from the Premier League, and it is a crucial clash for Liverpool in their hunt to qualify for the Champions League. Arne Slot's side visit Brighton at 13:45 CET with a chance to move within three points of rivals Manchester United after Michael Carrick's side drew at Bournemouth last night.

The question is whether Liverpool can come close to replicating the dominance and attacking endeavour they showed against Galatasaray in the Champions League midweek or return to the inconsistent performances that have plagued their season so far.

Team news in for that clash as Mohamed Salah is injured and unavailable for the clash. Check out the full team news below:
