After six years in the German Bundesliga, Niclas Kirkelokke will return to Denmark to join Fredericia on a three-year contract, says the club in a press release.

"It is a good day for handball in Fredericia, and from the summer of 2027, we can welcome Niclas Kirkelokke to FHK", says director Thomas Renneberg-Larsen in the press release.

31-year-old Kirkelokke has played in the Bundesliga since 2019, first for Rhein-Neckar Löwen and since 2024 for SG Flensburg-Handewitt.

He has played more than 100 international matches for the Danish national team and won gold at the World Championships in both 2023 and 2025, as well as Olympic gold in 2024. In addition, he has been selected for the Danish European Championship squad in January 2026.

"Niclas will give our squad a huge boost. With his experience and achievements from the Bundesliga and the Danish national team, we get a player who can contribute at the highest level at both ends of the court", says Thomas Renneberg-Larsen.

"We get a player who comes with enormous experience and a strong winning instinct. We have lacked the experience and skills that Niclas possesses, and he will be vital for the club's pursuit of medals", adds the club's director.
