Mathias Gidsel went goal crazy as he scored no less than 12 goals in 37 minutes when Fuchse Berlin on Sunday won away against GWD Minden 39-28.

It was expected that Fuchse Berlin would claim a much needed win at GWD Minden and it was also expected that Gidsel as usual would play a significant role for the visitors.

Still, it came as a surprise that Gidsel went on to find the net no less than 12 times within the space of 37 minutes in the 39-28 victory.

Gidsel had already scored nine goals at the break, and after 37 minutes he scored his 12th goal in as many attempts according to the Bundesliga's own statistics. And then the Dane was allowed to take a well-deserved break.

Todays performance brings Mathias Gidsel goal tally up to a total of 166 goals in this season's Bundesliga which makes him leading goalscorer in the world's best handball league.

However, Fuchse Berlin, who is coached by Nicolej Krickau, has more or less outplayed their role in the Bundesliga after a dismal start to the fall season.

Despite the victory, they are in fifth place, nine points behind league leaders Magdeburg, with Flensburg-Handewitt right behind them.

Chances are you’re about to lose.
