Danish international Simon Pytlick confirms to TV Sport that dissatisfaction with the Flensburg Handewitt management led Pytlick to sign a new contract with reigning German champions Fuchse Berlin, which will come into effect from next season.

At a meeting in December 2024, Flensburg-Handewitt persuaded Simon Pytlick to remove a clause in his contract that would otherwise have allowed the Dane to leave the club in the summer of 2026.

Pytlick agreed to show that he was ready to commit to the club and believed in Flensburg's project with his old coach from the GOG era, Nicolej Krickau, as head coach.

But 24 hours later, Flensburg chose to sack Krickau to Pytlick's immense frustration. The Dane's agent succeeded in pressuring the club to restore the clause in the contract, but the trust in the Flensburg management could not be restored.

Pytlick still extended his contract to 2030, five months later, with a clause included that he would be able to leave the club by the 2027 season, allegedly to minimize the turmoil within the club.

"A lot of things have happened, and trust has been broken between the club and me", says Pytlick to TV2 Sport.

Simon Pytlick signed a three-year contract with Fuchse Berlin at the beginning of December last year, officially joining the German club in the summer of 2027
