Denmark's women's national handball team booked a convincing 30-20 win against the Czech Republic, who is one of five countries to host the European Championships in December, when the two countries faced each other in the EHF Euro Cup on Thursday evening.

Kathrine Heindahl returned to action for the first time in two years after giving birth when the line player came on the court in the first half, when the difference in level was most evident.

At times, Denmark showed quite excellent attacking play, as when winger Emma Friis made it 13-3.

Shortly after, Stine Norklit Lonborg made it 14-3 with the ninth Danish successive goal.

The Czechs reduced the deficit to 4-14, but more than a quarter of an hour passed between the Czechs' third and fourth goal.

Danish goalkeeper Anna Kristensen enjoyed a save percentage of 46 in the first 30 minutes.

For the Danes, it was all about maintaining concentration in what would turn out to be a very convincing victory.

After a half-time lead of 17-7, however, the two teams were much more equal in the second half.

The Czechs suddenly got a chance to restore morale, while national coach Helle Thomsen rotated all players in the squad, which had a negative impact on the Danish performance.

Amalie Milling did not perform up to standard between the posts as the Czechs managed to narrow the gap. However, the Danes still ran out as comfortable winners with a ten-goal win.

Emma Friis and Julie Scaglione were the leading goal scorers in the Danish side with six goals each.

For the Czech Republic, Eliska Desortova stood out with ten goals as the match's leading goal scorer.
