Norway and Portugal on Monday afternoon shared the spoils in a hugely entertaining 35-35 draw, which will make it very difficult for either team to reach the semi-finals.

After the draw, the semi-finals will be hard to reach for both sides, as they are left with three points each, while Germany already has six and Denmark and France four each.

Luís Frade was named Player of the Match after scoring 11 goals from 13 attempts. August Pedersen scored 10 from 13 for Norway. Diogo Valério ended with the best save efficiency, 12 saves from 38 shots (32 per cent).

Portugal had problems finding their usual rhythm, but profited from the huge number of Norwegian mistakes in attack and from line player Luís Frade’s strikes to be only one goal behind at the break.

Both sides enjoyed their momentum, with Portugal having a slight advantage, as Valério became increasingly important and Frade kept on finding the net, virtually unstoppable by the Norwegian defence.

As the two sides went into  the last minute, the score was level at 35-35; when goalkeeper Torbjorn Bergerud saved Martim Costa’s shot, Norway had a chance at victory, but Valério stopped Simen Lyse’s attempt
