Denmark will presumably be handicapped by the absence of Aalborg profile Thomas Arnoldsen for the upcoming Handball European Championships in January, as Arnoldsen broke his shinbone Wednesday night in the Champions League match against Kielce.

Arnoldsen had to leave the Champions League match against Kielce in the middle of the second half, after landing crookedly after launching a shot.

Arnoldsen was subsequently carried off the court by his teammates, and on Thursday, scans revealed that Arnoldsen had suffered a fractured shinbone.

"Thomas has undergone scans and examinations from our medical staff today have revealed that he has suffered a shinbone fracture. Fortunately, the fracture is stable and does not require surgery", says Aalborg Handball team manager Martin Larsen in a press release

"This, however, means that Thomas is out of action for up to 12 weeks, after which a rehabilitation period will also be required. The result is, of course, not what we had hoped for, but conversely, the outcome could have been much worse, so all in all, we are confident, just as we are. confident that we will be able to continue the string of promising results while Thomas is away", says Martin Larsen.

The European Championships will be played from 15 January to 1 February next year.
