Switerland have enjoyed plenty of bright moments in the tournament so far and they also managed to be on par until 4-4 in the opening parts of the match until Denmark upped the pace, pulled clear and never looked back.
However, it wasn´t all smooth sailing for the Danish hosts with Mathias Gidsel only scoring twice and Niklas Kirkelokke converting just one of six attempts.
But defensively Denmark were extremely hard to break down for the Swiss guests and goalkeeper Emil Nielsen was back to his best between the posts and this resulted in an expected 18-11 lead for the Danes at the break.
Ten minutes into the second half, the co-hosts already boasted a double-digit lead, 26-16 and despite the fact that Danish coach Nikolaj Jacobsen gave some of his less prominent names a chance to shine, the Danish lead was never in danger.
Denmark are now certain to finish top of Group I of the main round, while Switzerland have no chance of reaching the quarter-final.
After losing against Denmark in their opening main round match, 30-40, Germany got back to winning ways by beating Italy, 34-27 and at the same time made a big step towards the next stage.
Hungary completed a comeback-win against Austria to secure a crucial 29-26 victory to maintain their chances of reaching the quarterfinals.
Like Denmark Guillaume Gille's French team are also ready for the quarterfinals before the last match in the Main round after crusing to a 35-28 win against Nethelands to maintain their first place in Main Round Group II.
